This whole experience at TERI really opened my eyes to a whole side of music that I never really explored. Music therapy is so intricate in each of its effective and near limitless implementations. It is a very useful method in getting a person that you may think couldn't do a certain task, do that task. For example, the TERI Players' pianist, Chris Baker, normally doesn't feel like talking all too much. However, give him the sheet music and a bit of time and he'll be performing Imagine by John Lennon all by himself. That jump from a person not wanting to talk much at all to full on singing really fascinated me the most throughout the entire internship, among many other things. This has given me a ton of food for thought in terms of what is in store for me in my college years and what I want to study. If I were to pursue a career revolving around music, music theory always appealed to me the most. However, music therapy has made the list of considerations that I will have to think about when deciding on my majors and minors in college.
