Impressions on the College
For college day, I decided to go to San Diego State University. I really liked the style of the campus and the way it looks. It had a big building known for its bells and designed in a mission revival style known as the Hardy Memorial Tower and is one of the most recognizable buildings on the campus. When looking for a college, I usually want one that is fairly close to home either driving distance or can take some sort of public transportation to it. I wouldn’t want to have to pay for a dorm because of how much it costs and I would not want to be in debt when coming out of college. I really want a college that specializes in computer sciences. The amount of people that attend a college doesn’t really matter that much to me, as long as the people at the college aren’t known to be a bad influence amongst peers. The location of the college doesn’t really matter either, as long as it isn’t in a place that isn’t known to involve serious crimes or pollution. I would prefer a college that has professors that care about whether students absorb information for exams and tests. I would also prefer smaller classrooms because it allows professors to connect with students better.

Majors and Admissions
Three majors that I would be interested in would be Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, and Computer Programming. San Diego State University has Computer Science and Computer Engineering majors, both of which I would be interested in. I think that I would consider it because it doesn’t require first-years at my location to live on campus and it isn’t that far of a drive. The cost to go to the school if your from in-state is $25,068 per year. The types of financial aid able to receive are scholarships, grants, and loans. The most important academic opportunities important to me would have to be internships or independent studies. |
College Life
In college, I definitely think that time management is a very important concept to get good at. Even though i’m only in class 4-6 hours a day, I should probably spend at LEAST two hours on class work, even if it is due in the distant future, it would be great to get ahead on it. I think other things I would do with my free time is just hang out with friends and go places without having to ask my parents for. Buy the kind of food I like instead of having to eat whatever my parents get me (this has been a very big issue). At SDSU, freshmen aren’t required to live on campus for their first year. SDSU has a lot more women’s sports than men’s sports, pretty much double. I don’t think this is very fair to men who want to play other sports than baseball, basketball, football, golf, or soccer.

My thoughtsOverall, I think SDSU is a great campus, and has many people that are Aztec proud, but I don’t think that it is one I am interested in, only because they aren’t really known for their Computer Sciences classes and on the account that they do have their fair share of crime both on and off campus grounds.
